When I think of Carlos I think: hard working and multi-gifted. For the past four and one-half years, I have had the privilege of knowing and serving in pastoral ministry with Carlos and I have seen his gifts demonstrated repeatedly; he is organized and great at administration.
I’m recommending him to you for a number of key reasons:
1. Carlos’ love for Jesus is genuine. He is committed to maintaining a close, honest relationship with the Lord.
2. His family reflects the character of Christ. Lisa Sales is a gem! She strongly supports her husband’s calling as leader in their home and pastor of a church. Their four children have learned the Scriptures and all of his daughters have committed to following the Lord in full obedience.
3. Carlos has successfully chosen and trained lay leaders for key positions of service. He developed our First Impressions, Prayer Partners and Life Group Ministries. He helped train leaders for various Counseling Ministries such as marriage mentors and Crown Financial groups. Carlos started the Men’s Ministry and planned many special events. He did all that while developing the church’s website which looks awesome!
4. He helped develop, with other staff members, a ministry plan for a 30+ acre parcel of land that became the home of our church plant, Mission Hills Church. I get tired just thinking about all that Carlos did in helping lead this church from infancy in our gymnasium to occupying the property in April of 07. His fingers touched most every aspect of church life.
5. During his pastoral duties, Carlos has been involved in every aspect of ministry: countless counseling sessions, funerals, weddings, baptisms and elder meetings. He has had broad ministry experience.
